SAINT-MAJORIQUE-DE-GRANTHAM · GOLD CARD FIELD GUIDE

What does the Gold Card framework require of a Saint-Majorique-de-Grantham applicant?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

A nonrefundable processing fee of fifteen thousand United States dollars per person, successful vetting, and then a gift of one million dollars to the U.S. government, or two million where a corporate sponsor gives in respect of an employee. The applicant must still qualify under the employment-based classification used, be admissible, and wait for visa availability.

Paying is one step, and it is not the step that grants status

The sequence is fee, vetting, gift, and then the ordinary machinery of an employment-based immigrant classification. Each stage can stop the process, and the money paid at earlier stages is not returned because a later stage fails. Two misunderstandings recur.

The first is that the payment itself confers status or a right to work; it does not, and the underlying category with its own eligibility requirements still governs. The second is that the gift flows from the government to the applicant, which reverses the arrangement entirely. Hypothetical example: a composite-panel fabricator is told that once the payment clears he may take a job with any American employer he likes, and he starts negotiating with two of them.

Nothing in the framework authorizes employment with a particular company on that basis, and a job offer accepted on that assumption is built on nothing. No payment removes the requirement to be admissible, and admissibility is assessed on the applicant's own history.
