Let’s make your move.
✦ WORK.
BUILD.
BELONG.

Households around Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover reach a U.S. question from several directions at once: a millwork or cabinet shop courting American general contractors, a moulding or finishing plant whose owners have bought a small operation south of the border, a printer whose largest customer has moved its distribution, a professional who simply received an offer. Hypothetical example: a couple who own a Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover coating shop are told by their accountant that "the company can just transfer you" while their daughter, a designer, has a separate written offer from an unrelated Ohio firm. Those are two files, not one. Write down who performs which activity, on whose payroll, in which building, and the categories start narrowing themselves.

THERE’S MORE THAN ONE WAY FORWARD.

THE DREAM IS YOURS.
LET’S FIND THE WAY.

Each route asks its own opening question, and it helps to hear them as different questions rather than as competing products. TN asks whether you are a Canadian or Mexican citizen holding a job offer in a profession that USMCA Appendix 2 actually lists, and whether you meet that entry’s own qualification rule. L-1A and L-1B ask whether two real companies are related in one of four permitted ways and whether you spent a qualifying year working for the foreign one. E-2 asks whether treaty nationals own at least half of a genuine operating business into which real money has been irrevocably committed. EB-5 asks about a fixed capital amount, ten jobs and where every dollar came from. The Gold Card asks about vetting, a fee and a gift, and it is not an investment programme.

Reading the offer letter as evidence

A professional entry turns on two findings that are decided independently: whether the position is genuinely one of the occupations USMCA lists, and whether you personally satisfy that occupation’s own minimum requirement.

Selections stay in this page session; no personal documents are collected here.

FOR PEOPLE WHO SEE A LITTLE FURTHER.

YOU WEREN’T
MADE TO
THINK SMALL.

The most productive early work is unglamorous: turning a plan into dated evidence. Pull the articles of incorporation and the share register rather than describing ownership from memory. Get the bank confirmations that show when money left an account and where it landed. Ask the U.S. side for a written description of the week you would actually work — tasks and hours, not a title on a letterhead. Keep the Canadian activity you intend to continue in a separate list, with the address at which you would perform it. Two questions decide most disputed files: what has already happened and can be proved, and what is still only intended. Confusing the second for the first is how otherwise sound proposals fail.

01

Write the roster

Name every person who would cross, every company involved, and who owns what percentage of each, before anyone mentions a visa letter.

02

Locate the work

For each activity, record the building it happens in and the entity that directs it; place and direction decide more cases than job titles do.

03

Date the evidence

Attach a document and a date to each claim, and mark plainly which claims still rest on a contract that has not been signed.

04

Test the weakest element

Find the single condition your file answers least well and work on that one, rather than thickening the parts already proved.

USAvisa works remotely with Canadians weighing a move, a transfer or a purchase in the United States. The team is Shneur Herman, Founder and Senior Consultant; Jo Kubti, Chief Executive Officer; and Alexander Paton, Immigration Specialist. Conversations can be arranged by phone or through the WhatsApp button on this site. Come to a first discussion with citizenship documents, the dates of your last three years of employment, the corporate paperwork for any company you own a piece of, and the ages of everyone who would travel with you. A consultation clarifies which official process applies and what evidence it wants; it does not decide the case, and where a point turns on state licensing or U.S. tax it will point you to the right professional rather than guess.

A BIGGER HORIZON.

Nothing about federal U.S. immigration law changes because an applicant lives in Saint-Cyrille-de-Wendover rather than anywhere else in MRC de Drummond. This page exists because people search from where they live, not because there is an office here; the service is remote, with no local address and no in-person appointment. Files can be prepared and discussed in English or in Canadian French, and the same facts must hold in both. Names should be given exactly as passports and civil-status records spell them, with any variation flagged at the start rather than explained later. Note also that a household is rarely one case: a spouse’s work, a child’s schooling and an owner’s investment are assessed separately even when they share a single moving date.

BEFORE THE BIG MOVE

LET’S CLEAR
A FEW THINGS UP.

My company here and a firm in Vermont have the same two shareholders. Is that enough for a transfer?

Common shareholders can create an affiliate relationship, but the petition has to show it rather than assert it, with share registers on both sides and evidence that each company is genuinely carrying on business. A relationship that exists only on paper, or a U.S. company that has been incorporated but has never traded, will not carry the petition.

I have Canadian permanent residence, not citizenship. Does that limit me?

It closes exactly one door and leaves the others open. TN entry is restricted to Canadian and Mexican citizens, so a PR card does not qualify you no matter how long you have lived here. The L classifications, EB-5 and the Gold Card framework do not ask about Canadian citizenship at all, while E-2 asks about the nationality of the investor and the owners rather than about residence.

Can I keep operating my Quebec company after I move?

Often yes, but the answer depends on which status you hold and on where you physically perform the work. Continuing to own a Canadian business is generally unproblematic; performing work for it while inside the United States raises a separate question, and a status granted for one employer does not extend to activity for another. Write down the address at which each task would be done and the question usually resolves itself.

Do I need to be in the same room as a consultant for any of this?

No. Everything described here is prepared remotely, and this site carries no local office, address or telephone number. Documents are reviewed as scans, discussions happen by phone or WhatsApp, and the only appearances that matter are the ones the official process itself requires, such as attending a port of entry or a consular interview.
