U.S. visa support for Canadians
ready for what’s next.
Hypothetical example: a Drummondville manager is proposed for a U.S. expansion but will retain some Canadian oversight. Another applicant has a professional offer separate from existing Canadian business duties. Describe which activities continue, which change and where the applicant intends to perform them. A cross-border business plan is not one undifferentiated job.
Compare TN, L-1A, L-1B, E-2, EB-5 and Gold Card using the actual proposal. TN concerns eligible citizenship, listed professional duties and qualifications. L concerns qualifying company transfers and roles. E-2 examines treaty investment and enterprise direction. EB-5 involves qualifying immigrant capital and jobs. Gold Card follows its current official gift-based framework and applicable immigration requirements.
Choose what brings you here. Leave with a short list of things to discuss—not another long form to fill out.
A U.S. professional role does not automatically cover a separate business activity.

Prepare a responsibility map for the Canadian and U.S. operations. Identify the legal employer, who makes decisions, who performs services and what funding belongs to each entity or individual. Keep physical work locations visible. A Canadian payer or continuing Canadian responsibility does not by itself establish permission for activity performed in the United States.
Meet the people in your corner
Personal support.
A practical plan.
No promises we can’t keep.
Identify responsibilities that remain and where the applicant intends to perform them.
Specify the new employer, role, ownership or investment and its actual duties.
Separate corporate relationships, personal capital and operating money using genuine records.
Assess the relevant route and all intended activities before commitments depend on permission.
An initial review can begin while the division of responsibilities is still being negotiated. Bring the current proposal and identify what the applicant would actually do on either side of the border. Do not assume a company relationship, investment or future residence plan automatically authorizes every continuing activity.
Find your pathwayFor a Drummondville request, prepare the underlying facts clearly in the language used by the people and records involved. Confirm consultation language, document requirements and review arrangements rather than assuming availability. The English and Canadian French versions explain the same U.S. requirements; the applicant’s location does not create a separate legal standard.
Let’s connectArrange a remote consultation to discuss your next steps.
No. Describe the actual activity and physical location for review. The payer’s country does not itself establish U.S. work permission.
Describe the real duties and locations so the qualifying role and complete arrangement can be assessed. Do not assume an unrestricted right to perform every activity.
No. Both explain the same U.S. requirements. Confirm language and document arrangements for the actual consultation or process.
No. The primary draft concerns Drummondville, with a separate proposed MRC municipality list. It does not claim blanket regional coverage.
